Standard Mental Health First Aid
Learn how to assist adults who are developing a mental health problem
The 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course is for any interested adult.
You will learn how to assist an adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence-based action plan.

This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals and is delivered in-person in 4 x 3 hour sessions. This can be done over 2 full days, or the sessions can be separated to suit your organisation’s needs (providing the course is completed within a 4 week period).

Over the four sessions we will cover the risk factors, prevalence and impact of mental illness, the spectrum of interventions and MHFA action plans to assist with the following:

Suicidal thoughts and behaviours

Anxiety Problems

Psychosis

Substance Use Problems
