Blended MHFA Workplace

Learn how to assist co-workers who are developing a mental health problem

The course teaches managers, supervisors and individuals how to assist a co-worker who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. However, course participants will learn mental health first aid skills that can be applied to help any adult. Course content is tailored to the workplace setting using case-studies, videos and resources tailored to their learning needs.

The new Blended MHFA Workplace Course includes two course components:

  1. Course participants first complete the interactive self-paced eLearning component that presents an overview of mental health problems and mental health crises (6-8 hours).

  2. The follow-on training with IncludeEd is delivered online in Zoom in 2 x 2.5 hour sessions, or 1 x 4 hour in-person session. It allows participants the opportunity to revise and consolidate skills in a group environment, and to address mental health problems in the workplace in more depth.

Over the two components you will cover the risk factors, prevalence and impact of mental illness, the spectrum of interventions and MHFA action plans to assist with the following:

  • Depression

  • Suicidal thoughts and behaviours

  • Anxiety Problems

  • Psychosis

  • Substance Use Problems

Both components must be completed along with an online quiz in order to achieve accreditation.
